About Light Speaks Loudest

We create resources to help teen Christian girls better love themselves, others and God.

When Laura Fooks was a teen girl, she found herself frustrated by a lack of teen resources. While the secular stuff felt too shallow, the Christian stuff felt too cheesy. Although she kept looking for something that was both relatable to culture and true to her faith, she came up short.

Eventually she graduated high school, went to college and did what most people do — figured somebody else would surely solve that problem. Instead, she watched the American culture shift to a spot where Christians are known more by what they hate than by what (or who) they love, and saw the next generation grow desperate for real-life resources to help them connect what they know with how they live (orthodoxy and orthopraxy, as some fancy theologians may say).

In 2020, after a series of many small steps and “God nudges,” Laura founded Light Speaks Loudest (LSL) with the goal of providing authentic resources designed specifically to help teen girls better love themselves, others + God.

Now, LSL is best known for its quarterly subscription boxes, which are shipped directly to hundreds of teen and tween girls across the U.S. every season. Beyond the signature box experience, LSL also creates Bible studies, hosts events, creates church discipleship tools and more — all with the goal of equipping the next generation of women to shine brightly.
